Friends Of STAR

STAR will be designated as the Centre of Rugby Excellence after the visit by the RFU coaches in April. We hope, with that STAR can further dominate the rugby scene in Malaysia as well as to become a leader in advocating and promoting rugby at the grass root level. The centre will be stocked with rugby history books, training manuals, DVDs, softwares and other references for this Modern Age Rugby.

The RFU coaches will arrive in Malaysia from 2^nd till the 9^th of April 2011. The course will cover intermediate to advance level for the coaches and a basic to intermediate level clinic for the boys. The Clinic in STAR will be from 3^rd till 5^th of April, and thereafter the coaches will be heading to our ‘Brother’ SDAR in Seremban from 6^th till 8^th of April.

I believe this is the first time that a Tier 1 Rugby Union will be coordinating a Rugby Clinic in Malaysia. Most of the other 'clinics' are run by visiting clubs.

There will be a friendly match (and I hope that this can be the inaugural annual match) between the two brothers in KL. I will announce the venue of the match once I can confirm it.

And I hope the old boys can spare their time on the 9^th of April to cheer our boys. (Please mark that in your calendar!)
