A Quick Look At The Road Ahead
It’s December. A time when every well organised corporation must set their plan for the coming years in order. Whether short, medium or long term plans, they must be thought- of again. We are no different. Though we are only a quarter year old but mind you the actions started since the day of the darkness, the SBT failure. We were a real concerned group regarding the SBT failure. We were busy identifying the roots of the problem and the solutions to meet the SBT list once again.
The best recognition we realised was that STAROBA is not a stakeholder. By recognising that we knew then the right way to help the school. Not stamping our foot either on STAR, Kementerian or Jabatan.The initiative to set up Friends of STAR Club (FOS) was a right direction. We knew over the years the Persatuan Bekas Pelajar STAR, has no direction to helping the school. Having in the constitution of helping the scholl bring little benefit to STAR. We didn’t do much. We can go around acclaiming that we are starians, once a starian always a starian or the brotherhood cry. But the result was STAR failed the SBT consideration. Yes, we are not a stakeholder but that again is an opportunity to contribute a lot more. Voluntarily.
FOS thus is at the right time with the right objective. To continue with the initial initiative to help STAR back to where it belongs. We want to be with the premier, the SBT list. Here we are FOS, with an objective to give back to the school that has given us so much.
As we continuously emphasised, FOS is not STAROBA 2. We thus must not compete with STAROBA. We must not think of STAROBA as our competition. Let them with their plan. We develop ours.
We are greatful that within this year we had achieved many solid results. We must sprint on. We must quicken our pace. We now should be already very clear of our direction. Goal and objectives set so that the relevant strategies can be put to practice. Let’s start planning. Let’s look to the road ahed. Let’s move from the trend of staroba years. We must plan to succeed.
Where are we?
We helped the school in getting things that they have not budgetted for. The transportation subsidy, the new look frontier, the FOS Gate, the sports excellence awards, the wakaf, the landscape, the equipments for sports excellence, the rugby club, the Kalut’s internationalization, Tamunif’s Kementerian Pendidikan adventures, the repairs and the recently concluded rugby excellence performance annual dinner.
Where to?
This month we must enjoy the efforts we have put in by sharing with STAR insyaAllah the “back to SBT” list. We can cherish this event. An end of year basking with the final year “the tarik convention” will be nice.

December must be a contracting month. Tamunif’s repair management of STAR should be the event of the month.
The news of the month must surely be the SBT announcement. We hope insyaAllah as reported STAR will be amongst them.
We may organise our “Kick-off Meeting" and should also share the occasion with STAR’s own “Kick-Off Meeting”. We can throw a luncheon in Ipoh.
Kalut’s Internationalization may also be “Kick-OFFed”at the same event.
The FOS yearly plan can be unveiled during this joint “Kick-Off” event. The main event the luncheon with the teachers and if possible the students/representatives. What a “change” and must be better then the lips service battle cry!
