Friends of STAR will be launching an adoption scheme to be called "adopt a poor student" beginning January next year. We will be writing to the school to identify at least 10 of the school's poorest students to be given a monthly pocket money of at least RM50.00 each. We will also sponsor other requirements like school uniforms, fees and books for the students.
The program will commence sometimes in November this year when the selected students will be presented with new school uniforms and other school requirements for the 2011 school calendar year. We will provide the necessary monthly pocket money beginning January, 2011.
Two members of Friends Of STAR have donated the necessary funds for the project. Please note, this project is subject to approval by the school.
At the same time, we are looking into the possibility of awarding the top three best students for the SPM trial two-month internship program in either Dubai or Saudi Arabia with the cooperation of some companies there. Even though we have lined up a few sponsors for the program - the program needs to be approved by various regulatory bodies. It is highly unlikely that the program could be launched in early 2011 as earlier planned. The earliest possible date is 2012. It is also possible the program might not be agreed upon by the relevant authorities. We will be advising you about the status of this program from time to time.

Menziarahi Kubur Dan Bersedih Dengannya
Ini ada satu soalan yang ditujukan dan dijawab oleh Mantan Mufti Perlis Dr Asri untuk kita ambil iktibar.
Soalan : Dr Asri, selamat hari raya, walaupun banyak hari lagi. Soalan, biasanya setiap pagi hariraya saya dan keluarga akan ke kubur arwah ibu kami. Hubungan kami dahulu amat rapat. Apabila di kubur, saya akan cuba ingat memori lama dengan ibu dan saya akan menangis sepuasnya. Saya ceritakan perkara ini kepada kawan sepejabat saya. Dia kata tak baik bersedih pada hari raya. Dia pun ada mention nasihat Dr Asri supaya jangan sedih pada hari raya. Saya sudah lama terbiasa sedih pada hari raya. Rasanya kosong pula kalau tidak menangis pada hari raya. Boleh Dr Asri jelaskan sedikit panduan hari raya?

Saya percaya saudari seorang yang sentiasa ingin mencari redha Allah dan RasulNYA, sebab itu saudari ingin memastikan hariraya saudari mengikut panduan yang betul. Saudari hariraya adalah hari yang dikhususkan kepada kita untuk bergembira, bukan untuk bersedih. At the request of En Hashim, the headmaster of STAR, Friends of STAR have agreed to sponsor new gate for the school. The new gate will come with new ceramic logo of STAR. The gate itself will probably be of stainless steel.
Friends of STAR agree the gate is an important structure since it is "the first impression" any member of the public will have about STAR. A new better-looking gate will, of course, create a better impression.
