Abdul Samad appointed PIDM chairman
The Finance Minister has appointed Tan Sri Dr Abdul Samad Alias as chairman of Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia (PIDM) effective yesterday.
PIDM said in a statement that Abdul Samad, who replaced Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Taha, was currently the chairman of the boards of Malaysia Venture Capital Management Bhd and Malaysia Ventures Bhd.
PIDM is the statutory body responsible for administering Malaysia's financial consumer protection system, which comprises deposit insurance system as well as takaful and insurance benefits protection system.
Note: Tan Sri Abdul Samad is an old boy
