Life experiences in prose and poetry

A Malaysian expatriate in Saudi Arabia has recorded his experiences in prose and poetry in his book Echo of Silence and Masih di Sini.
Written by Ariffin Mamat, the book chronicles his life and working experiences in the Middle Eastern country.
Media Prima Bhd chairman Datuk Johan Jaaffar, who launched the book here on Wednesday, praised Ariffin's efforts and hoped that other budding writers would follow in his footsteps and produce books of a similar or higher quality.
"The book is a great read as the writer takes you on a journey through his experience as a Malaysian working overseas."
Echo of Silence is a collection of more than 100 poems in English and Masih di Sini consists of two short stories in Bahasa Malaysia, all combined into a single volume.
Ariffin said the book was an insight into his experiences from 2002 (Pic and article from NST)
