2 + 6 !
Okey, so we are one of the many enterprising Malaysians who want to try our luck in business. Okey, we follow the herds into an already crowded field. Hopefully, a BULL rather than a BEAR will accompany us along the way.
Okey, so we are a bit nervous about the whole thing! A few things are at stake. Most of all, my eldest son's career and future. I have persuaded him to leave his good job in Dubai to return home and spearhead our family business. Although I didn't have to try too hard as he was a willing participant, he is staking his bets on the success of this business ! In the end I hope, the noble cause of doing something good for the family and his siblings is the one reason which swing his decision! Beside Adi's career, my own ambition & saving are also at stake. However, I do want to start a sustainable business which I can pass on to my children.
Okey, so I am entering the business world with my eyes wide shut, maybe. There are many reports such as this one here which says that only one tenth of all family businesses in Malaysia survive and successfully transitioned to third generation. Despite that, I wish to try anyway perhaps because I think that my children are different and they can make it work!
One Chinese proverb even says "Wealth never survives three generations". The Chinese believes that the first generation, the founder build from rags to riches, the second generation transforms riches to fortune, and the third will flounder all the wealth away! But I am not a Chinese, and as far as business goes, that can be for better or for worse.
Okey, our family has chosen a name for the company, and that name has been registered. Adi is the appointed General Manager. Our core business for now will be 'leveraging on opportunities in real estate!'. This may sound vague? It reflects the fuzzy vision we have, perhaps.
Okey, I am pleased to announce the incorporation of Two Plus Six Sdn Bhd! Your well wishes and 'doa' for a smooth
transition into this business world will be much appreciated. We are beginners, really! We have to refer to the internet to learn about the differences between a SDN company versus an ENTERPRISE. We have to learn step by step the process of setting up a company bank account! Ooops How interesting, not really 'we', but Adi alone did! Hehehe.
Okey, for us at Two Plus Six, we will learn to crawl first before we run. We will learn as we go. To Adi, the GM, it is okey to make mistakes. Each time we try something that does not work out, ask "How could we have done it differently, and move on...."
We are starting small. Nothing to really shout about. But our dreams are big!
Belajar merangkak dulu sebelum berlari...jatuh pun kurang sakit! hehehe
Susah ka nak start bisness ni? Errrrmmm...
Picture on the left is a view from our balcony. Our apartment is a modest medium cost one on the edge of KL, but we do have a million dollar view! That perhaps, illustrate who we are - a small starter with a big dream!
