Franck Ribéry to open an Islamic bar in his hometown in France
Munich-based footballer Franck Ribéry didn't have the best of luck in the final game before the Bundesliga winter break — not only was he sent off for getting pushy and grabby with Köln's Henrique Sereno, but earlier in the day he was forced to pay his former agent €2.66m in unpaid commission.
In a move that may slowly replenish his cash supplies, the French winger is opening a bar in his home town of Boulogne-sur-Mer. The new premises, however, is unlikely to accommodate Wayne Rooney's next curfew-breaking night out: since Ribéry is a devout Muslim, it will not serve alcohol. Instead, it will be an Arabic-themed shisha bar.
The bar will be called O'Shahiz, taking its name from his two daughters Shahinez and Hizya. "I wanted a concept that's a little different from the ordinary," the 28-year old told French newspaper La Voix du Nord - Bleacher Report
